ABOUT THE ARTIST
Braden Duncan (a.k.a. Clockwork Art) is a full time, self taught watercolour artist & curator based in Seattle, WA.
She is inspired by the intricate elegance created by the convergence of biological & mechanical elements, and her current bodies of work feature watercolour critters augmented with mechanical, fantastical, macabre & pop culture accoutrement.
As our lives become increasingly mechanised & electronified, humans & animals must adapt to survive. Braden's pieces represent organic beings enhanced for their new roles in a bio-industrial reality. With watercolour & oil, Steampunk & circuitry, she plans to take over the world with the strange & the adorable.
Braden is an advocate for fellow artists & animals (with a soft spot for cats), and helps raise funds & awareness for animals in need. She is the co-founder of the Seattle Arts Coalition, a member of the Strange Dreams Surreal Art Collective, and regularly assists with curation & art installation for a variety of galleries across the Northwest. She can usually be found covered in watercolour, oil paint, engine grease & cat hair.
Braden's little black kitten, Diesel, is her constant companion & artistic muse. Ghost & Earl Grey are her newest studio assistants and make the occasional modelling cameo.
